The Artist: DJ Mose

Moses Coker, better known as DJ Mose, is a Sierra Leonean DJ and media personality. Born on March 28, 1981, in Freetown, he has established himself as a key figure in the country’s music and nightlife scene. He began his career in 1997 as a party host in Bo City, organizing events and working in various clubs and nightclubs.

His first job as a DJ was at Humble Cotaugh, followed by experiences at Villa Complex, Under the Palm Tree (Kissy Town Road), and finally at Sonny’s Night Club in Bo City. In 1999, he won his first DJ competition, earning recognition in the local music industry. From that year until 2000, he performed for major social clubs and organizations in Bo City.

In 2000, he secured his first contract at La Bamba Night Club in Kenema, later expanding his career at Capitol Night Club and Wine Bar, while also playing at numerous events across the city. In 2001, he returned to Freetown, where he continued to grow his musical influence.

In the capital, he landed his first contract at Salwaco Canteen (Circular Road), followed by jobs at Time Square (Tengbeh Town), Scorpio Records (Pademba Road), and Face to Face (Adele Street).
